How do I work in several spaces without losing anything?

Your space, the teams you join, the subscription you share: what each action changes, and what it does not.

With the same GitHub or GitLab account you have your own space, and you can join other people's teams, from any forge. You move from one to the other in one click, without ever leaving anything. Billing is a separate matter: sharing a subscription gives access to no data at all.

What is a space?

A space is a Diavi account tied to one forge: its repositories, its issues, its runs. Yours is created the first time you sign in, and you own it. Signing in always brings you back to your own space; the teams you joined stay within reach.

A space's runs always use that space's model key, set by its owner. To work with your own key, launch your runs from your own space.

How do I move from one space to another?

Open the Space selector at the top of the menu. Each line shows the space's forge and, in green, what it is to you: My space, Team, or Team · via another forge when you enter it with another account. Switching leaves nothing: you stay a member of each.

You have a GitHub account and a GitLab account? Sign in with one, then use « Sign in with another account »: both stay in the selector.

How do I join someone's team?

Open the invitation link a team member sent you, then sign in with your GitHub or GitLab account, or simply by creating a password: no forge account is needed, and no token to provide. Already signed in? Enter the code in Join a team, from the selector. You can accept from any forge: a GitHub team can welcome your GitLab account. Your own space does not change.

Which Git token is used for what?

Signing in no longer needs a token: your forge (or your password) proves who you are. In a team, everything goes through the space's token, set by its owner: the list of projects, reading issues, the pushed branch and the merge request. You therefore need no write access on the forge to launch a run in a team.

If the forge refuses the space's token, no run starts and Diavi says so at launch. The owner installs a new one in Preferences → Forge.

Can a member be limited to some projects?

Yes. In Members, the folder icon on a member's row opens the projects they can access: All projects, or a list. A limited member only sees those projects — their issues, runs and logs, statistics and contexts — and can only launch runs on them. You can also set the limit when you invite someone. The owner is never limited, and nobody can grant access to more projects than they have themselves.

What happens after an ownership transfer?

The space's Git token stays the former owner's until the new owner installs theirs, in Preferences → Forge; the screen flags it until then. The space also stops being the one the former owner lands in when signing in: they get back to their own space, and keep access to the team as long as they are a member.

How do I leave a team?

In the team's space, open Members and click Leave the team on your own line, or go through Preferences → My data. You lose access to that team's repositories and runs, nothing else. Coming back takes a new invitation. The last owner of a space cannot leave it.

What is a shared subscription?

If you manage several spaces — one per client, for instance — a single subscription can cover them all: one invoice, and runs that add up. From the paying space, Share my subscription generates an attachment code; enter it in Subscription, from the space to attach. The spaces' data stays strictly separate.

What happens if I leave a shared subscription?

The attached space can leave the subscription, and the paying space can remove it: the effect is the same on both sides. The detached space keeps all its data, members and settings. It starts again with its own invoice, without a new trial: it needs to subscribe to launch runs again.

Which code do I enter, and where?

Three codes share one format, not one effect. An invitation gives access to a team: Join a team. An attachment code shares an invoice: Subscription → Join another account's subscription. A promotional code applies a discount: Subscription → Promotional code. A code entered in the wrong place is refused, without being used up, and Diavi points you to the right field.
