title: Project management
question: How do I go from a need to issues ready to develop?
description: Framing, vision, lots and user stories reviewed then published to the forge; roadmap, acceptance and starting in an empty repository.

Open **Projects**, create a project and choose where it starts: a repository already in progress, a new project with no code yet, or an application to maintain. Diavi then runs each step with you — framing, vision, splitting into lots and user stories — and nothing reaches your forge until you have approved it.

## Where does a project start?

- **Existing project**: Diavi reads the repository and writes a current-state report, then splits what comes next.
- **New project**: the agent asks its framing questions, up to twenty exchanges, and stops as soon as it knows enough. It draws the vision from them.
- **Maintenance**: no new features, only fixes.

Also choose the mode: **agile** (lot by lot, or sprint by sprint) or **V-model** (full specification first).

## How do I review and approve a document?

The vision, the current state and each lot open in the review space. Select a passage to comment on it, strike it or replace it, then click **Send back with my annotations**: Diavi revises and a new version appears, comparable with the previous one. **Approve** moves on to the next step. If the vision changes after the lots were split, a banner offers to generate them again.

## What goes to the forge?

An approved lot is published in one click: a milestone and its issues, one per user story, with their acceptance criteria. A published lot no longer changes; that milestone is what you then launch the development on.

## How do I follow progress?

- **Roadmap**: lots and milestones on a Gantt chart, the issues under each lot, planned versus actual. Put a lot in a lane so it moves forward independently of the others.
- **Journal**: decisions, risks, blockers, actions and meeting notes.
- **Acceptance**: approve or refuse each user story, then give a milestone its go or no-go.
- **Report**: a weekly progress update, to read before sending.

## Can I start in an empty repository?

Yes. On a project linked to an empty repository, Diavi lays an application base — React, Vue.js, Laravel, Symfony, Node.js or Python — shaped by the vision and the design system, and opens it as a merge request to review.

## What does it cost, and where is it configured?

Every exchange with the agent is a model call, on the account's AI key. The maximum number of exchanges, the agent's model, the calendar and the acceptance labels are set in **Preferences → Project management and design**.
